Definition
ある Q 上の楕円曲線 E に対して, 素数 p で E が good reduction を持ち、尚且つ p 乗 Frobenius 射の trace が p を 法として 1 と合同である時, p を E の変則素数 (anomalous prime) であると言う.

• p が E の変則素数である為の必要十分条件は, Mazur の Selmer 群が自明となること. (cf. [Ma])
• CM を持つ楕円曲線 E : y² = X³ + DX が p ≧ 5 で good reduction を持つとする. この時, 5 以外は E の変則素数ではない. また 5 が E の変則素数である為の必要十分条件は, D ≡ 3 (mod.5) である. (cf.[Ol])
• CM を持つ楕円曲線 E : y² = X³ + D に対して, p ≧ 5 で good reduction を持つとする. この時, p が E の変則素数である為の必要十分条件は, ∃s∈Z[p=12s² + 6s +1 ∧ D^2s2+s ≡-6s-1 (mod.p)] である. (cf.[Ol])
• 素数からなる勝手な有限集合 P に対し, ある1次元 Abel 多様体 A が存在して, Aの変則素数は P を含む.
